Event Description

112Km trail ride through Pench Tiger Reserve and surrounding areas. The trail goes through dense jungle, tribal villages and dolomite mines.

Pench is in Madhya Pradesh(near nagpur) and has the highest density of tigers in India. It has about 32 tigers.
Pench is also the setting of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle book.

We will have forest rangers accompanying us and a gypsy as a backup vehicle when we go into the jungle.

More infor at:

Do check out videos of BBCs documentary on Pench and also a recce video that we've put up.

This is a non-profit event and the contribution made by everyone would be used to organise the event.

We will organise tents, sleeping bags, rock climbing equipment etc but you have to bring your MTB if you want to join us for the ride. We will have some Indian made bicycles with us for those who can't bring a cycle and can do a shorter route.

If you are interested in joining us then send a mail to manu [at] knowyourraga [dot] com

1. We are traveling through parts of a tiger reserve, permission from forest officials is required to enter certain areas and you are not allowed to visit certain areas without forest rangers accompanying you. Also we will be travelling through a jungle which is full of wild animals like tigers, leopards, foxes etc. so it might be unsafe to go without a backup vehicle.
2. The cost is 8500 per person. It includes stay, food and other things mentioned on the blog (url is below)
3. We are planning to cycle 30-40kms on day one for warm up and getting acquainted to the environment, 112Kms on day two. Day three would not include cycling but other activities.
4. This is not just a cycling event but includes other adventure activites along with cycling.
