Its going to be a beautiful ride mostly through wildlife reserves and national parks, serene scenic roads winding through the western ghats, staying overnight at little home stays or guest houses, and treat ourselves to good local delicacies!
The Tour is a 5day plan. We reach Mysore on 2nd Dec evening by bus or if you have your own transport. Stay overnight close to Chamundi Hill. In the span of 5days, we cover Kabini, Kuruva Island, Gudalur and return to Mysore on the 7th. There will be one rest day in between to take in the beauty surrounding these locales.
The distances to cover each day are comfortable, plus the fatigue is hardly felt when surrounded by forests feeding you the pristine air and giving you shade!
Chamundi Hill to Kabini 76kms approx
Kabini to Kuruva Island 65kms approx
Kuruva Island to Gudalur 90kms approx
Gudalur to Chamundi Hill 110kms approx
Only the last day will feel a little long cause once we exit the Bandipur National Park, Gundlupet to Mysore will be a busy straight highway as compared to the rest of the days.
This tour is not meant for first time cyclists, or anyone new to cycling.
Daily commuters or weekend riders who can cycle a minimum of 70kms a day and who wish to have this experience can most certainly join!
Touring requires a little experience. Experience not just with cycling, but with knowing how to enjoy it. Physically a certain level of fitness is required, if not, the fatigue will catch on after a day or 2 and it is no longer enjoyable for the rider.
Your basic requirement is a bicycle carrier to hold your bag or backpack. Carriers are available for purchase in all the well known bicycle shops around Bangalore.
