Indian Cyclists Network

Hello everybody

My cycle was stolen from Hiranandani Powai, Mumbai, recently, on the 9th of June i.e.
It was a firefox with the foll. specs

Model: Reloaded 2.1
Colour: Red and white, with black wheels
Size: Full size with 26 " wheels
Accessories: Trek head lamp, trek tail light, trek 4 no. combination lock
Modification: The original wheels were replaced with a viper wheel in the front and a aerodynamic viper wheel at the back. Both wheels were fitted with disc brakes.

I humbly request you all to help me in locating my cycle, so if you do see it anywhere pls call me on 9833824520

Is there someone who has an idea of where my cycle could have landed up. Either it was sold off to a 3rd party, or stripped down (I hope this was not the case!!) and sold off in parts. Is there a 'chor bazaar' for these bikes?? Im asking only to narrow down my search to few places where the probability of finding it is higher. It just wont be possible for me to go all around mumbai looking for it, and for all you know, the bike is not even in mumbai anymore!! I really need your help guys

Cheers
Tarun

Wow, there is something amazing about this bike that it gets stolen.
My bike (firefox reloaded, color yellow-white) got stolen last week
from Golds Gym, Oshiwara between 7 and 8am. Anyone around Oshiwara
finding such a bike, please ping me.

TIA,
Nimit
I know some guys who have got cycle components from 'chor bazaar' so I guess the bike might be sold off in parts..I dont know where exactly is this 'bazaar but I remember someone telling me its near Byculla and usually more active on fridays (I might be wrong so plz do confirm)...

Hope you find your bike soon...
Hi Guys. A good place to find your bike (completly or in parts) is Chor Bazar. Directions to the place. From Western side get down at Grant Road and take a taxi. On Central, get down at Byculla and walk or taxi it down. Yes, as mentioned, this place is active only on Fridays. For any hope of catching something you are looking for, go there in the mornings. Rules to visit this place. DO NOT.. i repeat DO NOT go alone. Take a couple of friends along. Do not dress up expensively. Dress down in simple clothes. Do Not carry too much cash on you. Remember...it is 'CHOR BAZAR' This place is huge huge maze of by lanes and you can expect to find any thing under the sun out there. As for cycles, there are a couple of guys who deal in it. Their store will have some run down rusted repainted cycles. You will have to go and talk to them. Do not sound and look desperate. Remember that there is a very small chance to find your (or any one's) cycles. These people usually do not display the costlier cycles. They will have them tucked up behind some other place. But so far in my visits to this place, havent seen any geared or foreign bikes. It is just a matter of luck. So if you are going..Best of luck.
Whatever Mahesh said is absolutely right, my one more suggestion is to meet the cop of same area ( from where the bike was stolen), launch the complaint that it is misplaced( not stolen), go with a friend who has some good reference over their (must). Take one of the havaldar in confidence and convience him, take my word all the cops known local thieves, and there working procedures. He might get ur bike back from them before it is sold in chor-bazar. He will do it only for ur friend. And do follow up chor bazar too.
