good write up and excellent pictures. Apurva has a road bike. Take it from him for a five minutes ride and see the difference in rolling. Yours is a MTB. wide and knobby tyres. The friction due to this is far more than the tyres on a road bike. And the bigger difference between you and Apurva is he does a hundred km ride daily. So do not be worried if you cannot catch up with him. Many will not be able to keep up with you.

Well done. Keep it up and give a call to me too when you go on a sunday ride. Ph. No. 2481887. Sorry only land line.

hey gud point Apurva!! yesterday i reachd by 7:30 @ home and wanted to take a short ride bt wasnt confident for night ride! you know any track which has less traffic and safe near Ambarnath!

I am fine with any kind of ride...Navin, good thought of climbing Matheran...its 9 kms straight uphill route...especially last 1/3rd distance with extreme elevation...one shot climb without practice is very difficult, body will be badly strained...i suggest some practice on Yeoor which is just little more than a kilometer should prove beneficial to learn some basic techniques to go uphill along with some mechanics of breathing and than go attempt Matheran climb on 2nd or 3rd weekend.
