Yes I would back Martin comments, after using the bike for around 7-8 months, I had to change my rear hub, the parts are basic, but the amount you are spending is less too! I have done around 5000kms, with the longest ride being 270kms on a single day! The drawback on the long/trail rides is, when you get a flat! It doesnt have a quick release for both the wheels and you need to maintain spanners! If you are planning more for long rides over trails, the stock tyres are 26*2.1, I would recommend slick ones to be replaced at the time of purchase! Why dont you check in Montra!
The parts are very basic. its shimano but still you can only use for one year. Tyres are good, Disk are good, rear break is great... if you want this for small rides (5km/day) go for it... still brother spent some more money, you will feel great... trust me.
I Have a contour and am very happy about it.... its good for daily routines... i went for a 350 km ride, and 50KM ride twice on week... but after one year you need to change cassete and chain and almost every part... if you can afford please go for GIENT around 30k
