Gorai and Utan

Friday 12 Feb, 2010

With Porus at the Gorai ferry point early morning. Destination Utan.

The Pagoda at Manori looming and shining in the early morning light. Its tranquil alright, but the putrid water of the creek is a dead put off for me every time. As Porus and I were…

Madh or what?

Sunday Jan 3, 2010. Drove out to Kandivali with my bike contortioned inside the car, to meet my friend Porus Jose. Biked from his home to Madh island and back. Our first longish ride really. It was a big leap for me, perhaps not a giant leap for anyone else. Super! We should have strated earlier in the morning to avoid the trucks and buses shaving our sides and honking enthusiastically at us. My SIX SIX ONE helmet was a great comfort.

Picked up 2 kilos of prawns on the beach at 200 chips… Continue

Hey Arindam, good to know from your latest reply that you are going to stick with your current bike...U dont need a fancy bike while startin out and u will get a hang of the gears in time...Keep ridin n enjoy..

Rode for an hour around Powai. One hour! Didn't think I will be able to..but in the end, it was quite good. The chain jumped off twice, while shifting to low (small gear is low gear?) gears in the front. Must get that checked. And hey I am not being able to shift to the large gear on straight stretches. The derailleur needs adjusting. But I am sticking to advice and riding without shifting gears too much. Enjoying.
