Profile Information

My current bike model / type:
My favourite ride so far:
Coastal Ride through Mumbai's Western Coast / 2010-04-11
A bit about myself:
6AM is the time thou shall waketh, and the exact time of thou waking shalt be 6AM. 7 AM shalt thou not waketh at, neither at 5AM, excepting that thy snooze to 6AM. 8AM is right out. Once 6AM, being the sixth hour of the day, be reached, then draggeth thou out and into the crepuscular haze, it being crepuscular because it is hazy, on either the pedal or on thy feet.

I <3 cycling.
I also <3 dissecting through jungles. Snakes still elude me.
I also <3 rickety motorbikes and making surprise trips to places near and far.

I think about you all the time.

Bombay and Delhi

It has been a while, but feels like just yesterday that I was on Bombay/Mumbai roads. I am presently situated in Delhi. Well, I did do a ride yesterday, and the waning winters of Delhi, and the road edging the green belts of Delhi, it did feel like suburban Bombay. The tall grasses fed by the nullah waters reminded of the post I made long long back on this same blog. I have relived those moments more than once in the days in Delhi.

But only there for the similarities. Riding…

A good weekend for Mumbai cyclists

Cycling events in all directions today

Some already lounging out in Kashid, waking up to a beautiful sunrise to return back home

Some starting out for Khopoli - the long distance bloodrush

Some having their cycling morning out along lonley roads of Dombivali and beyond

Pakistan takes its wrath on Indian cyclists

This is not a very healthy way to encourage cycling in either of the countries. An eye for an eye...

But I'm also surprised that Pakistan sees cycling as a sport prominent enough to make…

Placebo punctures

"You've got a flat, dude", said Faisal, and went rolling by. It was high sun, 12 in the noon, and a flat would be a wrong end to a sweet day with the others inside Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The thought of riding through the congested Western Express Highway and the constant sewer stink along half of the route was still more palatable than either taking an autorickshaw or finding a repairman. As it was, I was traveling light...nothing on me, and nothing on the bicycle either. So no spare… Continue
