Hi Folks, Continue
I cycled to Lansdowne in Garhwal Himalayas this weekend. The ride was a
beautiful but was marred by extreme heat (42 degrees Celsius).
The ride had all the drama one can expect, heat-thirst-terrain-blood and sweat!

Hair band...cap. Despite my good friend's suggestion to wear a helmet at all times, I don't. Is it that important? What exactly makes the helmet a must have? I searched the net.
Liner. In the case of an impact, the liner absorbs the brunt of the force. It is the polysterene foam that coats the inside of the helmet.
Shell. Color and style. This is what the world sees on your head. But it also provides puncture-resistant… Continue

This was my first actual Karma ride. I'd had a pretty fair glance of the
Vasant Kunj farms, the posh hiding in between the acacia stuffed
outbacks of this multi-faceted millionaire streets of the Great Indian
Dream, so evening, I thought I'd sneak in some more.
So we trundled along the one lane street, past hoard of farmhouses, one concrete plant, and a temporary monkey shelter, into the midst of
Rajokri forest, and it… Continue

In Hinduism, conscience, reason and independent
thinking have no scope for development.
- B.R. Ambedkar Continue
We won't completely agree, but there is hint of truth it seems, for any avant garde thinking that had to be done in this religion of ours seems to have been done quite a few thousand years back (or as far back as it is required to discourage…

Where could I buy them from? Should sufficiently cover the wheels to prevent mud from being carried & thrown up over the back.

Well, the lovely breeze of 5 a.m. Delhi morning softly kissed my face as I pedalled on with the melodious Nayyara Noor playing in my ipod from the old sweetheart of a serial Dhoop Kinare. When music is on and the weather is good, even the most laborious of a ride perks up. So, the much maligned BRT corridor appeared lined with daffodils and the Siri Fort stretch turned into a hilly road amid the wilderness.
Early morning rides in the city are just… Continue

It was a memorable day…
Right from Sasural Restaurant, the ride to Bandra - the breakfast at Bandra Café and the Amateur ride. Though I managed to lose sight of the Cyclist.in somewhere along the ride till the sea link it was totally fun. Saw a few misshapes of people falling off – some crashing into others – some bikes needing help – my shoe-lace getting undone - maneuvering through the traffic – lack of clarity of the route but guess this was bound to happen. Should say that the… Continue

It's late evening but I'm up for one last hour of reading. Here's what it is: me, my room, my book, ceiling fan. My bike. Why is it always about the bike? This time, being the super laid back person that I'm, someone gifted a book that is not on biking but is totally on it. I said, chill...why suffer?
Here's why. It says that the ultimate biking race, the Tour de France, is actually a math problem. Every second counts. It's a 2000-mile race that goes on for… Continue

I have a Firefox Kompac and am doing some solo biking. I live in Goa so its great. I am worried about rust and monsoons just begun. Anybody knows whats best to do. I know about WD40 and spray it on the chain. Is that ok? Also what about other parts: spokes, wheels rims, handle bars. My previous Herclues used to rust in all the unpainted parts.

Noone is new to biking! We all did it as young boys and girls. But doing it again after a long gap makes you feel as though it's such a complicated sport. As a little girl, all I would do is let the wind blow in my hair as my red Atlas rolled down the lush green curves of the beautiful Himachal valley.
As a beginner biker now, I still let the wind blow in my hair when I ride my Trek 3700, but it takes a pack of professional tips to adjust to the new nuances of biking in the… Continue
