Sacred Heart Church hosts rally

About 100 parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish participated in a cyclothon as a part of the ‘Go Green’ initiative of the church. 


The 10-km cyclothon was aimed at promoting cycling and the advantages it can bring to a healthy living. Cycling is the best and the most economical way to not only stay fit but also fight diseases like diabetes, asthma, bronchitis and other heart diseases.

19-year-old is youngest to cycle around the world.

A British teenager has completed an “amazing” 30,000-kilometre around the world cycling journey that also took him to India while raising around 60,000 pound, a trip believed to make him the youngest person to achieve this feat.

Tom Davies, 19, completed the final leg in Dorset, UK, on Sunday after 6 months on the road.  He was cheered home by about 100 family, friends and others who had followed up-dates on his blog which he uploaded daily.

Bhor wins inter-college cycling

Vaibhav Bhor of Modern College, Pune, won the inter-college cycle competition ( Time trial track) held at Shiv Chhatrapati sports complex in Balewadi.  He was followed by his team mate Akshay Fulambrikar and Suraj More ( AIMMS) .  Meanwhile, in the 15 km road rare event, Raghunath Mali of Modern College finished first.

Puneites set for PBP challenge

City cyclists are participating in this endurance event in large numbers for the first time.

Paris Brest Paris (PBP) is one of the oldest endurance cycling events in the world, which is held regularly.  Cycling enthusiasts from around the world participate in this 1230 km event, and this year around 6000 cyclists will be participating.
