Reviews on brands/models based serivce

One of the reasons why I like bicycles is that I can understand its mechanism and I can fix most of the problems myself.  In my opinion, every biker should know some basics of his bike - should be able to do minor repairs and tweak his/her bike whenever needed.  So, every cyclist should have some basic set of tools.



This is another reason why I associate biking with "freedom" (less dependency on mechanics).

Mussoorie bans cycling on mall road

A recent decision by the sub-divisional magistrate ( SDM) of Mussoorie, taken in consultation with the local police and municipal council, will now see cycles banned on Mall road.

Cycling had recently caught on in the hill station with a number of operators even offering cycles on rent.

Cycle rally held in Camp

The Pune City District Congress Committee had organised a cycle rally on the World Environment Day in Camp.

The rally was flagged off by Ramesh Bagwe,  President, Pune City District Congress Committee.

Driver of pickup charged with murder in bicyclists' deaths

Cycle Rally organised in the memory of Prathamesh Kuche, Pune, State level cyclist,

Prathamesh Kuche was a 10th standard student and State level cyclist who lost his life when he was hit by a rash driver.

On 19th March 2016, Prathamesh was on his cycle when he was hit by a reckless tempo driver

His friends decided to do something so that many other don’t face the same fate as him.

They organised a cycle rally in his memory on 7th May which is Prathamesh’s birthdate.

Five cyclists to go up Khardung La

Five cyclists from Pune will ride from here to the top of Khardung La pass, in Ladakh, to promote the use of cycles and non-motorised transport.

Shifting gears (tampering) of a locked bike.

When we leave our geared bikes in the parking lot, some curious guys may shift gears.  To avoid damage, what I do is to leave it in the lowest speed gear combination, i.e., biggest chain-ring on the cassette (freewheel) side and smallest on the crankset.  On a locked bike, shifting gears in this position will only loosen the gear cables.…
