CYCLING TRACK IN BANDRA-KURLA COMPLEX IN MUMBAI:- Had read about the colossal waste of "TAXPAYERS MONEY" in constructing a "CYCLING TRACK" around "BANDRA-KURLA COMPLEX" in Mumbai and witnessed this sad public project on a visit to the locality.the "CYCLING TRACK" is constructed next to the pavement with trees lining some route paths , their branches expanding into the cycling track which would create havoc to any cyclist, roads being much better. The "CYCLING TRACK" tarmac is in some locations worse than potholed roads.Last and finally, which cyclist barring those staying close to the locality would ever think of going all the way to "BANDRA-KURLA COMPLEX" just for cycling? The saddest fact is that a few Crores of rupees was definitely wasted on this ill-planned project which had good intentions but was not researched consulting "Professional & Amateur Cyclists" before construction.CYCLING AS A LEISURE AND HEALTH SPORT IS EXPANDING IN LEAPS AND BOUNDS IN MUMBAI.MAKE OUR ROADS CYCLING FRIENDLY RATHER THAN TRYING TO BUILD SPECIFIC LOCALITIES AS "CYCLING TRACKS".

Rudolph, I agree with you on this as you rightly said " a few Crores of rupees was definitely wasted"!!

I stay in Kalina which is pretty much walk up distance to BKC.They should have consulted someone before even start the work.I go to BKC very often. When I see the the so called CYCLING TRACK " I feel the pinch of the money that we are paying it as TAX.

After all I feel its just for name sake... Who knows some contractor might have just got lucky..

And have got few lacks from this project..He may be happy and might have thought ......

What Cycle ? What Cyclist ?
