Took my 23 year old Atlast Concorde Pro not driven for last 22 years for an overhaul. Got Shimano Tourney derailleur installed. Few other tit-bits that include new tube, foam on the handle bar, break cable replacement etc., total bill 1400.

It used to be a ten geared version, when i bought it. After the purchase, just in couple of months, I bought a brand new bullet. so this bike was given to a friend, who totally sc****ed it. When he returned it to me all gears were gone. It was a junk that kept on lying in my garage for 21 years or so.

Recently my friends and myself started planning a Manali-Leh trip. Initially we wanted to hire bullets from Manali and go. But while hunting for a bike, I came across a great community of adventurous guys like me who had great experiences while pedaling on the same route. So, straight away I joined Cyclists.in and since then have been planning my ride.  I wish to do it in 1st week of September 2011.

Today I clocked 20 odd k.ms. and boy it was tough for me. I hope I will be fit again like I was loooooong time back :-) to undertake these strenuous rides.

Hi Tapesh! I had been planning on cycling up the Manali-Leh route for two yrs now. Last yr I set upon it but had to drop the plan before it even took off in its true sense, near Solang due to the unfortunate cloudburst in Leh.

I am attempting it again now. Leaving for Manali tonight. Will start the cycling from the Aug 1st, from there and go upto Leh. If the weather holds and I can take it on, I plan to go upto Khardung la, at its highest point.

Any which-way, I will be able to get back to you with details on what this climb entails, once I make it back. Max, I should be back before Aug 15th.
