Hi Sibendra,

I have called them one months back. At that time they didn't have many BTwin product (Cycling). I was looking for a Medium sized wind Jacket (fluorescent Yellow). They didn't have. One information I can share they have opneded their online store for B2C purchase. You can order from it directly.. They are really good in quality. BTW, I cannot go with you. But  if you are going please search for that wind jacket in M size (price will be close to Rs.400) and let me know.

Thank in advance.

Regards,

Subhendu

Cycle Satygraha - A Cycle March to protest the ban on cycles and non motorised transport in Kolkata.

Date - Sunday, 8 September 2013
Time - 8:30 am
Start Point - Victoria House ( Chowranghee Square)
End Point - Press Club Kolkata
Bring - Your cycles, if you have them
Contact - 9339481004

Kolkata is getting on the streets to urge the West Bengal Police to lift the blanket ban on cycles and non-motorized transport in Kolkata.

Who should come?
- Anybody who walks on the streets and breathes the air
- Anybody who has gotten stuck in the jam and gotten late for an important appointment
- Anybody who feels the pinch of increasing fuel prices
- Anybody whose health suffers or is concerned of the ever rising pollution in Kolkata
- Anybody who can't live without their newspaper or that cup of milk/tea

Why the ban doesn't make sense?
This ban just doesn't make sense when the rest of the world is building cycle lanes and moving toward a more sustainable and equitable modes of transport.
- The petrol prices are sky rocketing, making it impossible for common man to afford private transport. Promoting alternative means of transport like cycling, is imperative.
- The City faces acute road congestion, with the average speed of traffic between 14 - 18 km (the humble cycle is much quicker)
- Kolkata has become the pollution Capital of India, vehicles being the biggest cause
- Non-motorized transport is imperative to most services we take for granted including milk, newspaper etc.

What are the Solutions?
By promoting cycling through cycle lanes, cycle sharing and regulations - the Government will not just help the traffic, but also the health of common man and the environment.

@sabyasachi, thax for your suggestion.....would u plz tell something abt scott, btwin or fuji bike!!!

Comment by Sabyasachi Paul on August 27, 2013 at 8:24pm

*get a hybrid Yashanka, with 700*35cc tire, v brake, any gear comb of your liking, front suspension but no shockers(as you won't get mechanics for fixing it in emergency). I would suggest montras, or even cheaper hercules ryder neo(i ride it myself). But if you're spending that much and want to get the true thrill of cycling(not day to day work), get a road bike in your budget, the are firefox roadpros... these will make your ride harder, but once u get the hang of it it'll be more comfortable than any other bike..and of course a thriller!!
